I’ve known Jake Frazer since he’d been a student of mine at university. Above and beyond all

the other students, he demonstrated a knowledge and passion for the art of storytelling and on my advice of “just start making stuff”, he did that and so much more. He is a passionate team player and values the camaraderie and expertise of others that completes a holistic and energised film set. I’m proud to call him an friend and colleague and am excited to see what next spills from his unique imagination.

Jake’s great! I like his passion; I like his quirkiness. I love how he’ll fire out a script, and he’s like a Labrador puppy with excitement. It’s just amazing what goes on inside his head. I think he’s got a pretty bright future ahead of him.

I had the absolute pleasure to guide Jake as a Senior Lecture, during his studies at the University of North Carolina. I have known for years as a friend, prolific filmmaker, and a creative storyteller with a very bright future! I look forward to every project  coming down his Sick and Twisted pipeline.

Jake's the one that has always given me the chance to improve my craft as a cinematographer by working on his films. Without Jake, I wouldn't have shot nearly as many short films as I have. His scripts are always so fun and high concept and give me the opportunity to play around with cool lighting and camera tricks.

Writing film scores for Jake has been a blast, they've pushed me out of my comfort zone and have subsequently taught me to be a more versatile composer which is absolutely an essential skill to have in this discipline.

Jake Frazer is an aspiring filmmaker from Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia, with a passion for storytelling that has captivated audiences worldwide. His diverse portfolio includes the acclaimed short films Lost Boys, Jake Frazer's Lockdown Porn, and the five-part series A Grim Tale that have screened across numerous film festivals around the world.

Growing up as one of five siblings, Jake’s journey began at the age of five when films like Small Soldiers and The Mask of Zorro ignited his dream of becoming a filmmaker.

Jake became the first in his family to attend university, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Industries in 2019. His academic journey continued with Honours in 2024, focusing on screenwriting. His passion for learning took him beyond Australia, with enriching international experiences at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington in 2018, and the New York Institute of Technology in 2019, where he specialised in Promotions Management.

Jake is the creative force behind Sick and Twisted Productions, a name chosen to intrigue and challenge perceptions. “I wanted a name that catches the eye and makes people ask, why?” Jake explains. The reasoning behind the bold title is simple: to remind people not to judge a book by its cover and to spark curiosity. Ultimately, it’s just an interesting name that embodies his love for thought-provoking storytelling.

While Jake thrives in many aspects of filmmaking, screenwriting remains his primary focus. He has honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors like Glenn Fraser (Mother Tongue, Magical Tales), Michael Lucker (Vampire in Brooklyn, Mulan II), and Terry Linehan (Don’t Know Yet). His commitment to excellence is evident in his work on professional sets, including projects with Netflix, ABC, and independent films, alongside his own creative endeavours.

Beyond filmmaking, Jake is an adventurer at heart, a wrestling enthusiast, and a proud dog dad to Axel, his loyal Border Collie and best friend. Driven by a love for storytelling and a relentless pursuit of creativity, Jake Frazer continues to forge his path as a filmmaker dedicated to crafting memorable, impactful stories.
